Challenge
-
In an attempt to provide accurate and transparent information to the public regarding environmental conditions, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, through the Directorate of Air Pollution Control in the Directorate General of Environmental Quality Management (Ditjen PPKL), has taken significant steps by establishing a continuous ambient air quality monitoring system known as the Air Quality Monitoring System (AQMS).
-
AQMS supports policy-making and decision-making by relevant authorities related to air pollution control. The data generated by this system serves as the basis for designing emission reduction strategies, evaluating the effectiveness of mitigation measures taken, and identifying areas or sectors that require further attention in achieving better air quality standards.
-
KLHK Air Quality Monitoring System assists the government in identifying areas with high pollution levels, evaluating the effectiveness of existing environmental policies, and planning more efficient air pollution control measures.
